ACCA Course Fees in Kenya 2026: A Complete Breakdown

By Upskill Ltd  |  June 2026  |  7 min read

If you are researching ACCA course fees in Kenya, you are already thinking like a finance professional — understanding costs before you commit. This guide uses the official ACCA Global fees published for Kenya (source: accaglobal.com), with approximate KES equivalents to help you plan your budget.

Note on KES figures: ACCA charges all fees in GBP (£). The KES approximations below are calculated at approximately £1 = KES 167, which is the indicative rate as at June 2026. The actual KES amount you pay will depend on your bank's exchange rate at the time of payment. Always check the current rate before transferring funds.

1. Registration and Subscription Fees

These are fees paid directly to ACCA Global to create and maintain your student registration.

FeeGBP (£)Approx. KES
Initial Registration — one-time fee to join ACCA
Reduced rate for new students
£89
£36 reduced
~KES 14,863
~KES 6,012 reduced
Re-registration — if removed from register for non-payment£89~KES 14,863
Annual Subscription 2026 — keeps your student status active each year£140~KES 23,380
Reduced First Year Subscription 2026 — new students only
Standard rate applies from year 2
£63~KES 10,521

What this means in practice: In your first year, as a new student you pay £36 initial registration (reduced) + £63 reduced annual subscription = £99 total (approximately KES 16,533) in registration and subscription fees. From year 2 onwards, the annual subscription is £140 (approximately KES 23,380) per year.

2. Exemption Fees

If you qualify for exemptions from ACCA papers based on a prior degree or CPA Kenya qualification, ACCA charges a fee per exemption granted.

Exemption LevelGBP (£)Approx. KES
Applied Knowledge papers (BT, MA, FA) — per exemption

Even at the full rate, exemption fees are worth paying — each exemption saves you the time and cost of sitting and preparing for that exam. Contact Upskill Ltd to find out how many exemptions you may be eligible for.

3. Exam Entry Fees

You pay an exam entry fee to ACCA Global for each paper you sit. Fees differ by level and by whether you enter at standard or late entry. Always enter at standard entry — late entry doubles or triples the cost.

Applied Knowledge Papers (BT, MA, FA)

Applied Knowledge papers are sat as on-demand Computer Based Exams (CBEs) at local CBE centres. The fees for these are set by the CBE centre itself and vary by location in Nairobi. Contact your preferred CBE centre for their local fee.

What Does the Full ACCA Qualification Cost in Total?

Putting it all together across a typical 3-year completion journey at standard entry fees, a student sitting 13 papers with no exemptions would pay approximately:

  • Initial registration (reduced): £36 (~KES 6,012)
  • Annual subscriptions × 3 years: £63 + £140 + £140 = £343 (~KES 57,281)
  • 3 Applied Knowledge papers (CBE centre fees — varies)
  • 6 Applied Skills papers at standard entry × £151 = £906 (~KES 151,302)
  • Ethics and Professional Skills Module: £83 (~KES 13,861)
  • 4 Strategic Professional papers × £191–£268 = approximately £1,032 (~KES 172,344)
  • ACCA Global fees subtotal: approximately £2,400–£2,600 (~KES 400,800–434,200)

Add tuition fees from Upskill Ltd for each paper, and you have your all-in cost. Spread across 3 years, ACCA is genuinely affordable — and the return on investment in terms of salary uplift and career progression is among the highest of any professional qualification available to Kenyan students.

Are There Exemptions That Reduce the Cost?

Yes. If you hold a relevant accounting degree or have completed CPA Kenya papers, you may qualify for exemptions from Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills papers. Every exemption you receive removes one exam entry fee from your total cost. At the current reduced exemption rate of £40 per Knowledge paper, this can save you thousands of shillings — and months of study time.
